The wraiths rise up and materialize from black portals on the floor. There are three types: lankier, human shaped wraiths that are quick moving, birdlike ones that can fly off with Yorda, and ogre-like, very strong ones that can knock Ico across the room. The goal of these creatures is to drag Yorda away into the portals and away from Ico's protection to the hands of her mother, the Queen.
