Similarites in Shadow of the Colossus & Ico
- Bridges. A long bridge lead the main land from the Forbidden Land in SotC, as the bridge connected the main land to the castle in Ico.
- Idols: the Idol Doors of Ico opened different passages of the castle. In SotC, the Idols held peices of Dormin's soul.
- Cursed Fate: In Ico, Ico is entombed within the castle because children born with horns are considered cursed. In SotC, Mono is a teenaged girl sacrificed by the villagers for having a cursed fate.
- Sunlight: In Ico, sunlight passing through the East and West Reflectors opens the Main Gate to the outside world. In SotC, the sunlight leads Wander to the colossi that must be destroyed in order to destroy the Idols.
- Magic Sword: Ico's Magic Sword opens the Idol Doors and defeats the Queen. In SotC, Wander's sword helps him defeat the colossi, and the sunlight reflecting of it leads him to the colossi. In the end the sword was used to reseal Dormin.
- Pale Heroines: Both Yorda and Mono are pale, slender, and tall. Both have brown hair.
- Idols: In Ico, the unlocking of the Idols charges Yorda with energy. In Shadow of the Colossus, Dormin's soul is fragmented and locked into idols, and the destruction of each idol peices Dormin's soul back together.
